Mark Robert Bailey, better known as Bill Bailey, is a comedian, musician, singer, actor, TV and radio presenter and author. He voiced the sperm whale in the 2005 film adaption of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Bailey is most known for his work in comedy, through his stand-up and his roles in various comedy TV shows, such as the character Manny in Black Books (2000-2004) and as a regular team captain on the comedy music quiz show Never Mind the Buzzcocks (2002-2008). As a classically trained musician and a talented piano and guitar player, Bailey often includes music in his stand-up performances, and has also pursued more serious musical ventures, such as appearing several times with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

He is a serious fan of sci-fi, describing himself as an avid fan of Star Trek, and he also played a nerdy comic book store owner named Bilbo in the television series Spaced (1999-2001), created by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost which contained many references to various sci-fi creations, especially Star Wars. Bailey has also appeared in Pegg's films Hot Fuzz (2007) and Run Fatboy Run (2007), and as well as being a team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, he has also appeared multiple times on the quiz shows Have I Got News For You and QI.

Bailey is also an avid birdwatcher and has presented television documentaries on birdwatching as well as hosting his own gameshow Bill Bailey's Birdwatching Bonanza in 2010.
